Myst, Might, Mayhem Wiki

The Heaven-Earth Society or Cheonji is one of the three largest influences in the Murim.

Overview[]

Formation[]

The origins of the Heaven-Earth Society trace back to the remnants of the once-great Dual Martial Forces, one of the most powerful factions in the old murim. In the aftermath of the Great Disaster, the entire faction was devastated, suffering the greatest losses of any group in the calamity, and ultimately collapsed. Only a handful of members managed to survive the cataclysm. Amid the ruins, a few surviving descendants sought to rebuild what little remained of their legacy. Among them were three adopted brothers who had endured the disaster together, and a treasure keeper from the famed Musang Castle, who had once served the leaders of the Dual Martial Forces. With no clear sign that any descendants of their legendary leader, Jin Woon-Hwi, had survived and recognizing the growing instability in the murim, the keeper entrusted a portion of their martial legacy to the three brothers.

Over time, the brothers grew in strength and established their own martial clans: the Heavenly Vein, the Earth Vein, and the Moon Vein. However, their unity soon fractured as each vied for the title of the rightful successor to the Dual Martial Forces, sparking bitter rivalries among them.

Eventually, the three factions reached a fragile truce and merged to form a new power in the central plains - the Heaven, Earth, and Moon Society. Moon Vein quickly rose to prominence after acquiring an encoded secret manual of the Eight Shattering Thought Technique, the ultimate creation of Jin Woon-Hwi himself. With this, the Moon Vein became the dominant force within the alliance.

Tragically, due to a plot and the betrayal, the entire Moon Family was annihilated, and the secrets of the Eight Shattering Thought Technique were lost once more. From the ashes of that tragedy emerged a new faction - the Heaven and Earth Society. Though this new organization upheld the principle of strength like their predecessors, it had grown far more ruthless and drifted dangerously close to the path of evil.

Destruction and Reorganization[]

From its very inception, the Heaven-Earth Society was doomed to collapse. This fate was sealed because its leader, Bi Yongheon, was merely a pawn and an extension of a being hostile to humanity known as Mokgan.

Throughout the history of the Heaven-Earth Society, Bi Yongheon operated from the shadows, exercising direct and indirect control. Even during the reign of his descendant, Bi Jungseon, the ancestor remained hidden, granting him a degree of autonomy. However, Bi Yongheon had made preparations long in advance to seize the society at a moment's notice. He planted his cursed followers deep within its ranks; these sleeper agents were unaware of their own true nature and constituted roughly 20% of Cheonji's entire force. This infiltration extended beyond low-level warriors to include even branch leaders. Furthermore, the entire Elder Hall remained utterly loyal to him.

Bi Yongheon made this choice because he did not view his descendant as family, but as a lamb being raised for slaughter. Recognizing Bi Jungseon's extraordinary talent, he wanted him to grow as powerful as possible, intending to ultimately consume him and take his body as a new host.

The new leader of the Heaven-Earth Society was aware of this plot. This was precisely why he worked in secret to thwart the plans of both his ancestor and Mokgan, while attempting to quietly reclaim control of his faction. However, he did not know the specific identities of the enemy's agents. For years, he feigned a severe illness, using the ruse to covertly identify the traitors in their midst. His goal was to divert his enemy's gaze, presenting himself as an unworthy and corrupted host not worth their immediate attention.

Yet, the power of Mokgan proved to be far beyond his strength. His plans ultimately failed, leading to his downfall and, consequently, the downfall of the Heaven-Earth Society. However, this collapse was ultimately sealed by another event: the sudden emergence of the Heavenly Demon and his rebellion, which gave rise to the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult.

Vengeful Spirit of the Moon Clan leader Blue Spirit meet Mok Gyeongwoon at the start of his journey. Heavenly Demon became her official disciple and successor of Moon Sword (Incomplete Moonless Void Sword), that evolved in to Demonic Sword Arts. That's how legacy of the Dual Martial Forces became foundation of Heavenly Demon Divine Cult. Growing stronger Cheon Ma's number of forces also started to grown. His followers within Heaven and Earth Society started with him internal civil war that ended up as a total victory of revolutionists. Victorious clans of former Heaven and Earth Society joined forces with Fire Faith Order and created a final force, Heavenly Demon Divine Cult. After this they decided to completely change executives hierarchy and faction system. Entire force was unified, also Elders and Guardians system known from ''Nano Machine'' series was introduced.

Dual Martial Forces had a long journey of changing colors and names, finally after hundreds of years marked by transformations and changes, it became a Heavenly Demon Divine Cult. (Some of the Demonic Cult founding families were recruited from outside for example Ou Yezi descendants, but significant part of them were clans created from Dual Martial Forces survivors). Demonic Cult especially bear a legacy of Dual Martial Forces, because martial art successor of Jin Song-Baek became a great guardian of Heavenly Demon Divine Cult. Also official name of great guardian family is ''Wind God Clan''.
