Myst, Might, Mayhem Wiki

It’s no coincidence that the successor of the Moon Vein has returned to the organization. If my Lord wishes to reign over the organization, I, Mong Mu-yak, will devote my life to following you with the loyalty of a dog and horse.

Mong Mu-yak

Mong Mu-yak is the son of the Vice-Leader of the Heaven-Earth Society. He is also one of the more significant supporting characters in the entire story.

Background[]

Mong Mu-yak is a proud, sharp-tongued young swordsman with a deep obsession for swordsmanship. He is the son of Vice-Leader Mong So-cheon and the grandson of Mong Woo-jong, a legendary swordsman who later joined the Heaven and Earth Society’s elder council after retirement. Because of this lineage, he has access to many confidential pieces of information and holds an important office himself.

He is also one of the Five Tigers, a group of youths recognized as the most talented disciples of the Heaven and Earth Society, who are destined to become crucial pillars of the organization in the future. This status has made another of the Five Tigers, Seop Chun, his rival. The two of them represent two different martial paths: Mong Mu-yak follows the path of the sword, while his rival follows the path of the blade.

Appearance[]

A young man with a handsome appearance in his mid-twenties wearing a red leather belt.

Personality[]

Mong Mu -Yak holds high expectations for anyone who wields a sword. Blunt and unafraid to speak his mind, he immediately clashed with Mok Gyeongwoon, believing someone of lesser skill had no right to bear a sword as rare as the Evil Commandment Sword. Though talented, Mong Mu-yak’s arrogance often puts him at odds with others.

He is also an extremely devoted and loyal individual. Despite his initial aversion and hostility towards Mok Gyeongwoon, once he swore loyalty to him, he fully committed himself to the role of his servant. Although the oath was initially forced through sheer power and with the aid of a shamanic artifact, the future Heavenly Demon earned his genuine and complete loyalty in a very short time.

…… Yes. Now I’m just someone who wants to see how far our Lord will go.

Mong Mu-yak, to Seop Chun

His devotion became so profound that, without hesitation and despite his heritage, he chose to follow the will of the Heavenly Demon, who announced his intention to destroy the Heaven-Earth Society. Upon returning from the mission, Mong Mu-yak, who had always been compliant and obedient to his father, defied him outright, declaring that he would not carry out his orders and that Mok Gyeongwoon was now his lord.

Vice Society Leader, no, Father. Just as you chose to serve the Society Leader, I have chosen Young Master Mok Gyeong-un. You may reprimand me now, Father, but soon your thoughts will change.

Mong Mu-yak, to Mong So-cheon

Despite his change in perspective towards Mok Gyeongwoon, his competitive spirit remained intact. He still considers Seop Chun his greatest rival, especially after the latter also received an infusion of Demonic Qi. However, he has since expanded the circle of individuals he views as rivals to include Ja Geum-jeong and Ma Ra-hyeon.

Chronology[]

First meeting[]

Mong Mu-yak, was personally summoned by the Society Leader along with Seop Chun and Mok Gyeongwoon. He looked down on Mok, a disciple of the Shadow Clan, for wielding the legendary sword made by Ou Yezi believing Mok didn’t deserve it. Calling it a "pearl necklace on a pig’s neck," Mong Mu-yak tried to put Mok in his place. However, the situation backfired Mok's unexpected skill humiliated him instead. What began as an attempt to teach a lesson turned into a blow to his pride.

Martial Arts[]

As one of the most promising youths and talents known as the Five Tigers, Mong Mu-yak was a formidable individual. He had reached the Transcendent (Master) Realm, making his strength comparable to that of some organization's executives. However, he was still weaker than his father, let alone the Five Kings or the official disciples of the Society Leader.

His power skyrocketed tremendously due to his mission with Mok Gyeongwoon. The incredible experiences and adventures he shared with the Heavenly Demon provided him with invaluable practical knowledge. But the two factors that had the greatest impact on his growth were two rare and potent elixirs from the Shaolin Temple, which he received from his lord, and a infusion of Mok Gyeongwoon's own Demonic Qi.

After converting his innate Qi into Demonic Qi, his strength surpassed that of some of the Five Kings, thereby making him stronger than his own father. He now stood before the wall of the Transformation Realm. He achieved all of this in the span of approximately two months during his mission.
